Secret places in your city

In Florence on the walls of several buildings in the historic center there are some curious small openings used for the sale of wine directly in the street and called the wine holes. They have documented 181 so far. Here's where you can see some of the famous Wine Holes:
- Piazza degli Strozzi, 1 nel palazzo dello “Strozzino”
- Via del Giglio, 2 Buca del Vino dell’antica Cantina Salimbeni
- Via delle Belle Donne, 2 Palazzo Viviani

● Old Times Passport Photos
Born from a collective of artists who wanted to bring back to life the old booths of passport photos, Fotoautomatica are analog booths where you can take black and white photos as you did many years ago. These booths that can be found here in Florence and Berlin, promise to take you several photos and make you enjoy the waiting time when the photos are printed as they did long ago. There are several around Florence and they are a nice way to take home a unique souvenir from Florence.

● Traffic Signs by Clet
When in Florence, pay attention to the traffic signs! Why? A local artist called Clet has been adding stickers to them since the summer of 2010. Now, they are part of the art scene of Florence, even if many people, including the administrators of the town, don’t really appreciate them.

Recommended Restaurants

● Ristorante Borgo San Jacopo — a privileged place to enjoy the city in an elegant and romantic environment, the Gourmet Restaurant Borgo San Jacopo, part of our Lungarno Collection, is a place not to be missed located in the heart of Florentine Oltrarno. In the kitchen, Executive Chef Claudio Mengoni signature proposals animated by real flavors to amaze the eyes and the palate.
● Buca Lapi. One of the most powerful symbols of true Florentine cuisine. At Luciano's, under Palazzo Antinori, the real Fiorentina is cooked in fillet steak, almost to the point of exaggeration, usually from white Italian veal, mostly from Chianina or Marche. One of the secrets is cooking over hot, sweet and fragrant olive wood embers. The Fiorentina comes to the table on heavy wooden cutting boards and is "split", not cut, into two or three pieces, depending on the diners.
● Osteria delle 3 Panche is a place you absolutely must try for its focus on truffles. Don't miss the new location close to the Ponte Vecchio and with a terrace offering a splendid view. The dishes will be served on the hotel's two panoramic terraces.
● Il Santo Bevitore in the heart of the Oltrarno is a restaurant that combines the style of an artistic Florence with refined, youthful elegance. Don't miss the terrine of chicken livers in Vin Santo ristretto and pan brioche or the beef tartare with crispy vegetables. To meet the needs of all customers, you will also find dishes for celiacs and vegetarian options on the menu.
